Our staff offers over 30 years of floodplain modeling and floodplain permitting services. Our experience varies from simple streams floodplain models to one of the most comprehensive floodplain models of the Flathead River system ever attempted. We offer a complete suite of FEMA, County, and City floodplain permitting requirement services. Dam
Safety
Hafferman Engineering Engineers are trained in all levels of dam safety engineering. From the hydraulics associated to spillways and outlets to the State permitting and dam safety program investigation. We offer experience working on many of Montana’s State permitted high hazard dams and several private dams with specialized expertise inspecting, monitoring, and maintaining high hazard dams and reservoirs. We are experts in developing the dam safety emergency action plans and operation and maintenance manuals required by the State’s Dam Safety permitting program. Allow our team to provide the highest level of confidence and protection by helping you build your new dam or impoundment or by inspecting and maintaining your existing dam or impoundment structures.

Hafferman Engineering, Inc. offers extensive knowledge of groundwater well development in northwest Montana and an extensive knowledge of the groundwater aquifers that exist in this area. From locating and developing small domestic wells to developing and designing the necessary facilities for large municipal and irrigation wells we offer the knowledge, skills, and ability to assist you with your groundwater development engineering needs.

Water Permitting
Hafferman Engineering, Inc. has an extensive list of permits that we have successfully applied for including the Conservations District Streamside Management Act 310 Permits, the Montana Floodplain Development Act Permit for many activities including floodplain fill permits, floodplain map revisions, and floodplain constriction permits, and the US Corps of Engineers 404 permits. We bring years of experience applying for and receiving the permits necessary to work in the streams and rivers of Montana. We can provide a permitting solution that meets the client’s needs and satisfies the permitting agencies while striving to provide the highest level of protection to your stream bed and banks.
